The unfinished could be white because it offers you the opportunity to build again and even radically change what already exists; a kind of new energy, a power that can be used, it starts in one way but can be concluded in a million different ways. White is a difficult color: the emptiness of the color white, of the beginning, is scary.

If I tell you Unfinished what’s the first thing that comes to your mind?

Unfinished architectures come to mind. Here in Italy there are many: in a state of neglect, construction are often left unfinished because they are located in places of naturalistic and historical interest; there are many projects and researches in this regard that study this phenomenon throughout Italy.

Unfinished what color / shape is it?

The unfinished could be white because it offers you the opportunity to build again and even radically change what already exists; a kind of new energy, a power that can be used, it starts in one way but can be concluded in a million different ways. White is a difficult color: the emptiness of the color white, of the beginning, is scary.

The unfinished sprouts, from a core, which is rooted, stable, strong, where you can insert a new idea, a new origin.

Is there something you have left undone in your life?

I am one of those people who does want to have any regrets. I follow my instinct and I do whatever I want to do, I don’t want to miss the opportunity. There were moments that made me understand that a choice is always taken, one path rather than another, the unfinished on one side certainly served to develop another experience unknowingly. That unfinished project, that experience, that past, that lived, then subsequently leads you to develop something else and can be one of or the basis for getting to something else. The unfinished is like a structure, a skeleton, which can accompany you and strengthen the different choices.

Something unfinished on something else that you would like finished?

The ending of something scares me, it is as if there was an end to evolution, to the process, I feel that there is never an end in evolution, it is always on going. Everything is unfinished and it’s great that it is!

When is a work or a project completed?

This is one of the most difficult phases together with the starting point, because on a practical level when you start a drawing, a sculpture, a project, stopping and knowing when you are finished is as important as starting it. For the essential to not be lost in the habit, the ego must stop before it swallows the work, which can live a life of its own. I mostly work with human relationships, with interactions and communities, therefore there is a conclusion marked by the time in which I am immersed, by the context, the territory.

More than concluding the work, it is not knowing how the process ends: I sketch the project, but until the relationship with the other is activated, I never know how it will develop, everything takes shape in that specific time, being mine an experiential space that does not belong only to me, but to different authors, together it consumes itself and ends in unpredictable and always different forms.

3 words that you would match with unfinished?
